I am back...

Hey everyone,

I am back from Attilan. After ending up in some trouble, the teachers there and I decided it would be safer for me to come back here. And before anyone asks… some former friend decided he wanted to marry me and some other former friends decided to help him to the point of kidnapping me and attacking me in my room at the school in Attilan…
  
I looked around the journals and saw that we have a some new faces since I was here for the last time. I am Sooraya Qadir. I am originally from Afghanistan until a good man saved me from my owner and brought me to the States in 2006. Since then I have studied here and in Attilan, with about a year’s break to spend time with my mother, who still is in Afghanistan. I look forward to getting to know all of you.  You can recognize me from the headscarf, unless there is another Muslim girl around… ;))

I hope to finish my last two high school courses here and to go to college in September 2012. Not sure yet what I want to study, but I still have time to figure that one out.

Before I forget, Leyu told me to say hi to everyone on her behalf.

Yes, seriously... I wasn't hanging out with the group anymore, but one of them thought I would make him a good wife, the leader of the group agreed and I said no... Hence the kidnapping...

If it's legal... probably depends on the way you're looking at it. From Sayyid's (that was the leader) point of view he was acting perfectly legal... well, not with the kidnapping and things, but with the marrying off...

I do enjoy it here. I have been learning to cook my native dishes so that I may be comforted by the tastes of India. I believe Afghanistan shares a spice pallet. I would enjoy being critiqued on accuracy when you are available. Both Sharon and Meggan seem to enjoy my variations, regardless.

If they'd resort to kidnapping once, they'd do it again and maybe next time with a girl who can't defend herself as well or doesn't have a roommate with fire powers. It'll be a service to humanity at large.

Not matter how heinous the crime, violence as punishment further reinforces the belief that violence ought to be used to gain the results one desires. It may only reinforce the conditions that produced the crime so grotesque as to inspire you to act.

I tend to not use violence as the solution in cases like this, so much as...nudging their karmic consequences, shall we say. Through the judicious use of technology.
